Low Temperature Dielectric Silicone Fluids

Low Temperature Dielectric Silicone Fluids (-80°C to 220°C) are clear, colorless and odorless linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids that are characterized by their high dielectric strength, low viscosity, low viscosity-to-temperature coefficients (little viscosity change at low temperatures), low pour points, stability @ low temperatures, and compatibility with virtually all surfaces including metal, rubbers and plastics. The PSF-2cSt and PSF-5cSt are widely used in Freeze Drying and heat transfer applications that require a fluid with low viscosity and low pour point.

Properties:

  • 100% Polydimethylsiloxane Fluids
  • Clear, colorless, odorless fluids & inert fluids
  • Long service life @ recommended service temperatures
  • Low viscosity: will not put strain on pumps.
  • Low pour points
  • Excellent low temperature stability with little viscosity increase (low VTC)
  • Exhibit significantly less viscosity change than petroleum based oils.
  • Formulated from 100% synthetic sources.
  • Long service life when used for recommended temperature ranges.
  • Inert to virtually all bath instrumentation and plastics
  • Hydrophobic- will not absorb water
  • High Dielectric Strength

Low Temperature Dielectric Silicone Fluids are low-viscosity (1.5cSt to 20cSt) 100% linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids that are formulated for use as dielectric fluids and dielectric coolants in a wide range of applications. The fluids are clear, colorless, odorless, and inert to virtually all metals, plastics and rubbers.

Low Temperature Dielectric Silicone Fluids are characterized by their high dielectric strength, low pour points, low temperature stability, wide service temperature range, low viscosity change at temperature (low V.T.C.), low surface tension, long service life, and hydrophobic nature (insoluble in water).

Wide Temperature Dielectric Silicone Fluids have a high Dielectric Strength of 350 to 375 volts/mil.

Low Temperature Dielectric Silicone Fluids have Thermal Conductivity values between 0.00025 to 0.00034 g/cal/cm/sec °C or 0.10 to 0.15 W/m °C. The Specific Heat values between 0.410 to 0.35 cal/g °C or 2.0 to 1.6 J/g °C.
