M3 Chlorotrimethylsilane Description
Chlorotrimethylsilane (molecular formula: (CH3) 3SiCl), also known as Trimethylchlorosilane, chlorotrimethylsilane, and trimethylmonochlorosilane.
Trimethylchlorosilane is a colorless liquid at room temperature, volatile and flammable, and is mainly used in the production of sealer MM, silicon nitrogen, head-holding antibiotics, and active gene protection agents.
M3 Trimethylchlorosilane is one of halosilane and has many uses in organic synthesis. It is stable without water, but decomposes in water to produce hexamethyldisiloxane and hydrochloric acid. It is obtained by reaction of methyl chloride and silicon powder in the presence of cuprous chloride and distillation purification, or by nucleophilic substitution reaction of nucleophilic methyl reagents such as methyl lithium with silicon tetrachloride.

Vinyl Terminated Silicone Fluid: Guide
Chlorotrimethylsilane is mainly used as an intermediate in the manufacture of silicone oil, water-repellent agent and reagent for analysis.
M3 Trimethylchlorosilane is widely used in chemical synthesis and drug synthesis as a protective group for hydroxyl, amino, carboxyl and other functional groups, and can also be used as a sealing agent for organosilicon polymers in petroleum production and other processes to regulate the molecular weight of polymers.
Trimethylchlorosilane can be used to produce a variety of organosilicon compounds, is the main raw material for the production of hexamethyldisilazane (amine) and hexamethyldisiloxane. This product can be used to prepare alkylating agent, also can be used as group protection agent in pharmaceutical chemical production.
